Embark on an unforgettable 10-day journey through Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto—where leadership development meets adventure, culture, and creativity. This Youth Leadership Program combines hands-on innovation workshops, dynamic team challenges, cultural immersion, and thrilling days at Universal Studios Japan. Students explore Japan’s futuristic technology hubs, iconic temples, vibrant markets, and historic districts while building essential skills such as resilience, collaboration, creative problem-solving, global awareness, and confident communication. Designed to inspire curiosity and courage, this program empowers young leaders to navigate challenges, embrace new experiences, and develop the mindset needed to thrive in our global world.

Welcomes students into the rhythm of Japan with a warm orientation where they set intentions, build trust through icebreakers, and prepare for the week ahead.  Students begin practicing confidence, curiosity, and global awareness—foundational traits for any young leader stepping into a new environment. 

Day 2 – Tokyo Innovation Challenge

Students dive into Japan’s cutting-edge innovation ecosystem, exploring immersive digital creativity at teamLab, the high-tech energy of Akihabara, and the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan), where they engage with advanced robotics, AI, and space science. Through hands-on observation and guided discussions, students examine how robotics and emerging technologies are shaping the future. They then design and pitch futuristic solutions, learning that true innovation requires collaboration, adaptability, and clear communication. The day concludes with a reflection circle, connecting technological discovery to real-world leadership and problem-solving.

Students explore Tokyo’s balance of tradition and progress, starting at Sensō-ji to learn cultural etiquette and respect, continuing to Tokyo Skytree to examine modern engineering and resilience, and ending in Shibuya to observe how communication, technology, and youth culture shape global cities, with guided discussions reinforcing adaptability, teamwork, and cross-cultural leadership throughout the day.

Enjoy a full day around Mount Fuji, starting at Arakurayama Sengen Park for iconic views and goal-setting reflections, followed by a cultural visit to Fuji Sengen Shrine. Explore Fujiyoshida’s nostalgic streets, discover the crystal-clear springs of Oshino Hakkai, and enjoy authentic local snacks before ending with a peaceful walk at Oishi Park along Lake Kawaguchi, where students journal and share leadership takeaways—blending culture, nature, and personal growth into one unforgettable day.

Day 5 – Travel to Osaka + Market Leadership Challenge

Brings a new adventure as students ride the Shinkansen to Osaka. At Kuromon Market, they dive into the colors, flavors, and sounds of local life. A market leadership challenge puts their negotiation, teamwork, and time-management skills to the test as they complete food-related missions in busy crowds. By evening, the glowing lights of Dotonbori offer a vibrant backdrop for reflecting on how leaders remain calm, decisive, and collaborative under pressure. 

Day 6 – Universal Studios Japan Adventure Lab

With a full day at Universal Studios Japan—transformed into a leadership adventure lab. Students are encouraged to complete challenge tied to different attractions, pushing them to strategize, communicate, and create stories inspired by what they encounter. From thrilling rides to teamwork checkpoints, the park becomes a playground for building resilience and creative leadership. A debrief in the evening helps students understand the roles they naturally step into and how they respond when facing challenges.

As the journey continues to Kyoto, students step into a world where tradition, creativity, and leadership come alive—walking beneath the iconic torii gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha to reflect on perseverance, then exploring the historic pathways of Kiyomizu-dera while developing cultural awareness and perspective. The day adds an interactive twist at the Samurai Ninja Museum Kyoto, where students learn about discipline, strategy, and focus through hands-on ninja experiences. A traditional tea ceremony concludes the day, inviting mindfulness, patience, and respect—reminding students that strong leadership begins with inner calm, curiosity, and thoughtful presence.

This day centers on experiential leadership—building confidence through movement, teamwork, and reflection. Whether walking through the bamboo forests of Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, cycling along scenic paths, or working together in a team obstacle challenge, students develop courage, adaptability, and trust in one another. The experience continues with a collaborative cooking class, reinforcing communication and shared responsibility. The day concludes with a reflection circle, where students celebrate achievements, personal breakthroughs, and defining moments—connecting their experiences to the leaders they are becoming and strengthening their commitment to growth beyond the program. 

Day 9 – Tokyo - Free Day, Reflection, Celebration & Forward Vision

Spend your last full day back in Tokyo enjoying a flexible free day for shopping, sightseeing, and final memory-making—whether crossing the iconic Shibuya Crossing, exploring the traditional streets, or picking up souvenirs with families. In the afternoon, the group reunites for a joyful closing celebration and certificate ceremony, where students proudly recognize how far they’ve come—not just in miles traveled, but in confidence, communication, and global understanding. As they prepare for departure the following day, students reflect on how they’ll bring these leadership skills home, leaving Japan with renewed purpose, lasting friendships, and the courage to take on new challenges long after their adventure ends.

Eligibility

This Japan youth leadership tour is open to students in all ages who are interested in cultural exploration, leadership development, and global learning (STEM); participants should be willing to engage actively in group activities, follow program and safety guidelines, respect local customs and etiquette, be comfortable with full-day walking, and travel internationally with a valid passport, with parent or guardian consent required for minors and no prior language or travel experience necessary.

Program Inclusions

A minimum of 10 students is required to run this tour, ensuring an engaging and interactive experience for all participants. Students will enjoy a comprehensive, fully supported program,  including:
